Gardening
Here we go again , Six things go on in my garden this Saturday . Why not link in ? Could be anything , a salutary flower , a troublesome weed , a projection , a catastrophe , a triump , anything at all . Here are my six .
1 – digitalis . I think these came to me originally as teeny plug plants in a winter perennial offer from T&M. The plant currently flowering by are probably the 2nd or 3rd multiplication . I ’ll let them self - source where they are , but for now they are in good anthesis social club , doing skilful tariff in focal points in diagonally opposite corner of the garden . They are white , in general , but with majestic flecks inside the trumpets . The bees screw them , and so do I.

2 – Oenethera ‘ Apricot delectation ’ . I grow these evening primroses from cum last summertime , they have overwintered outside quite mirthfully and I ’ve now planted some out in the new border scheme , more to follow in a later post . They are treat little thing , although they seem yellowed , frankly , not apricot . Hmmph .
3 – Jasmine . This thing is a toughie . In one sense it has something to offer in that it flowers profusely , little white blossom . It climb happily too . But , and it ’s a heavy but , it is rearing . From a single small plant , it has gradually spread all the way down one side of the garden , and also across 12 human foot of trellis . This would n’t be so bad except it takes over , growing through and tangling up with other industrial plant , finally overwhelming them . I now fight an annual engagement to prevent it from spreading further , and ideally also knocking it back a few foundation . It self - level at an unbelievable rate – any clock time a stem so much as match the ground , it ’s off . Much as I might like to , I ’ll never entirely get free of it .
4 – Escalonia . This evergreen has occupied space in the long , gay border for years . I do n’t specially like it , and in fact I ’ve designed it out of the mete , mainly on the basis that it has never done anything . Never flower , not once . Murphy ’s legal philosophy very much in force , of course , it has come out to blossom . I ’m still tending to lose it and replace with other planting that I care better .

Delight? Disappointment, more like!
5 – Clematis . I bonk a clematis . Really sleep with them . I have wittered previously about mybargainpurchase sooner in the twelvemonth . A duo of them are slow appetizer , not yet above knee height , but many are chest elevation ( 5′ ) and flower forth . The ‘ Rebekah ’ that I previouslyfeaturedis being munch by something in the front garden . Earwigs I think . However , Mme J Correvon , Warsaw Nike , Piilu are in their pomp , although sparsely at present . I ’m expect even better thing next class , once they are more accomplished .
6 – Dahlias . It ’s unlike me to have correctly timed a tendency , but I ’ve become a dahlia fan since last twelvemonth . I grew some from seed , bought a few this class , and have increase stock throughcuttings . I ’ve started to plant out the good - sized works , part of the new border shenanigans , more of which soon . They repaid that honour by immediately flower .
That ’s my six for this week . Last hebdomad I was very happy to be joined by 3 other bloggers , Jim , SharonandGreenfingered , which I think officially make Six on Saturday a full - on meme , at least for one workweek . Why not unite in ? If you adjudicate to join , tot up a comment to this post with a link to your Six , and perchance include a link back to this web enter your post . Look onward to reading more hexad !
