Today ’s photos are from Andrea Niederer near Boise , Idaho .

Andrea says,“I live in the Intermountain West , near Boise , Idaho , in USDA Hardiness Zone 6 .   We have lots of sun and coolheaded nights so plants , especially yield and veggie , like to grow here . As long as you irrigate them !

“ This is   my Malus pumila espalier that I commence just two long time ago .   There is a Fuji apple on the rightfulness and a Gala on the leftover ,   cross - pollinators .   This is a great way to obliterate and dampen an ugly white vinyl fence , plus promote productivity of your railway yard . The first year the tree produced 4 apples total .   The second year ( 2011 ) the trees produced 110 Malus pumila .   Amazing and beautiful ! ”
