3 . Once you have the first layer of rocks you may add together more dirt and then squeeze more rocks to build a double rock and roll rampart .
4 . Keep on filling the spiral with soil until it ’s spirit level with the rocks . The upmost top has a 3 layer stone bulwark to give the herb spiral more height .

Not all the herb were perennials . Some of them ego - seed like the camomile ( and even ended up spilling all over the position outside the herb helix ) . I ’ve lineal seed annual herb like basil & cinnamon basil , dill weed and Chinese parsley in the ‘ blanks ’ that you see here . As I mentioned already , you ’re not think to plant mint in a herbaceous plant volute as it ’s very invasive . I did it because it ’s close to the fence and I wanted it to spread in that expanse or else of baseless weeds . Realistically though , it ’s not the best herb for a herb coil .
The # 1 affair I will say is that stone garden are that they need frequent weeding
There are both pros and cons ofbuilding rock garden beds . Because most herbaceous plant spirals are build with rocks , tiny weed seeds can diminish into the snap and spud create it difficult to weed .

I would definitely build a herb spiral again , but choose better herb that are less incursive and weed more frequently .
