Today ’s pic are from Gwen Chance in southeast Kansas . She says,“I started gardening in 1990 with a few day lily around a Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree and then in 1999 I got serious about it .

“ In 1999 the guy in my kinfolk ( two male child and married man ) built the arbour . My unseasoned son Dustin designed it and they built it together . Having the structure helped me focus on building a garden around it . Then in 2002 - 2003 Dustin designed and built the piddling garden shed in his extra time so I would have somewhere to store tools , etc . Of of course , that called for more gardens !

“ I have peony , irises , bee balms , genus Funka , oakleaf hydrangas , and around 125 dissimilar varities of dayliles , along with some annuals . When I melt down out of room I just move the rock butt out more and make a little more room for my new plant . I also have around 30 container and hanging baskets that I sate each spring with annual .

“ The summertime of 2003 Dustin ( years 27 ) was killed in an automobile accident . He did not have the shed wholly finished so my other son , Brent , and my husband finished the shed . I now have a garden around the shed in retention of Dustin . The garden has been a healing place for me and I drop many , many hours there .

“ Our summers are spicy and sometimes dry so my papa , who owns the ground next to mine , helped us put in a buried melodic line from the pool and we hook up a small pump which is how I water my garden . My pipe dream would be to have an irrigation system ( rather of watering by hand ) so I could irrigate my whole garden with the pond water . I mostly fertilize with compost leaves and manure from my admirer ’s and my dada ’s farm .

“ One of my favorite things to do is chat botanical gardens in different state and to contain along the mode at garden centers . I have been experience to even bring a new works home base sitting between my foot in the front seat ! My husband just shakes his head . ”
