I ’m not too thrilled when the mail gets have . It ’s usually a big quite a little of bills that I would much rather not get . Then one twenty-four hours , a large gasbag come that had a bit of weight to it . Even with an impressive talent for guess the content of wrap Christmas present , I had no idea what could be inside .
I start the gasbag to be greeted with a gold medal .
It flop out onto the table and I sat there for a consequence wondering if , somehow , horticulture had become an Olympian sportsman . It quickly dawned on me that even if it had , I had not vie in any effect . More importantly , if I did participate , I would certainly be out - gardened by gardeners more talented than me . So much for that possibility .
The medal came all over with a certificate which end the mystery . My published book , Garden Made , deliver the goods an award at the recent Independent Publisher ’s Book Awards , also know as the IPPYs .

In all seriousness , I ’m tickle pink to have received this honor . My silliness about it comes from not being completely well-off writing about it . The awarding were last May and I kept putting off blogging about it because it is much harder for me to pen about myself than the garden . Even in person , I can sing about gardening for HOURS but I shy aside from the personal material . I am challenge myself to be more open and deal story that brought me here to Garden Therapy .
I worked hard on this book and I publish it as I was in the final years of rehabilitation . Not long after it was publish , I was able to go back to sour full clip , after almost 10 eld skin with malady . It signifies a new chapter in my life and I cerebrate that is worth celebrating .
Even if it ’s difficult to do .
So , I ’m off to get the medal framed and then I ’ll take Meatball for a walk to delight this beautiful dip day . That ’s a hunky-dory elbow room to celebrate , do n’t you cogitate ?
