As a result , the floriculture industry experienced increased activity leading to this day as growers harvest and sent their flowers to the auctions in former and mid - November . All auctions and florists across Turkey saw increased activity in the week lead to Teacher ’s Day .
Sales increased dramatically at the auction held at the Sariyer , Istanbul branch of Flora Cicekcilik Production and Marketing Cooperative . While the flowers were displayed on the moving paseo , florist who desire to buy the product for sale vie with each other .
Muammer Yazici , Chairman of the Flower Growers Cooperative , said , " This is the blossom market . Since the beginning of the week , flower shopkeepers and seller in Turkey had been preparing for the 24 November Teachers ' Day and started buy flowers . Prices commence to get up as of Monday . There were near 240 customers in this auction sale hall alone . Our cooperative has 18 different auction halls in Turkey . Approximately 15,000 boxwood of blossom were offered for sale in all auction Charles Martin Hall . All our halls volunteer their flowers for sale in standardised quantities . Chrysanthemum flowers were the most pop change in this prison term of the season . "
Florist Selcuk Kahraman , who participated in the vendue , express that he has been in the diligence for 30 years and said , " It was a piffling more hectic on extra day like this . Florist Mustafa Yildirim said , “ The most best-loved flowers were orchidaceous plant , daisy and blush wine . Our intermediate uprise price is around 1 USD per stem , while potted flowers motley between 10 to 18 USD . "
