Why have a lawn when you could have this ?
This is what I shoot for in my own food woodland projects . My North Florida food forest was a bang-up succeeder by its fifth yearand will only rise more beautiful and productive over time .
Though I think one-year gardens will always have their position in a food production system due to their very short time until production and their high yields , making a intellectual nourishment forest part of your homestead makes a lot of sentience . As a nurseryman grows older and bending and hoeing become more unmanageable , having fat tree and shrub reaching their potentiality will provide abundant organic food for his table without the labor that goes into a traditional backyard garden .
Plus , the beauty of a forest is good for the soul – and the food and herbs they produce are something to smile about .
Though I am presently let , my destination is to buy a small-arm of attribute and produce a new , fully tropic nutrient forest down here near the equator . When my money come in from Nigeria , I ought to be totally fructify to get whatever I wish . I might even buy an full island .
For now , I ’m re - hear my plant and the rate of grass and tree diagram emergence down here is nothing short of astounding .

I screw the woods . Woods that produce food and medication are even unspoilt . And the wildlife is wonderful … I had so many bee , Gaul , beetle , butterflies and birds on my former food woodland that it was a source of constant admiration . It took a few years to get the ecosystem go , but as the issue of species increased , my plague problems fail right smart down .
I ’m always encouraged by realize other people have the same achiever . Go ye out and make some forest !
